Fans looking forward to one of the most anticipated new packaged beers from Bell’s Brewery, Inc. this year are going to have to wait a bit longer to purchase it.
That beer is Double Two Hearted Ale, an 11 percent ABV double IPA that has previously been released as a draft-only exclusive. As the name indicates, the ale is an amped up version of the Kalamazoo, Mich.-based brewery’s Two Hearted Ale, a 7 percent ABV IPA brewed with 100 percent Centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest that was named after the Two Hearted River in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Bell’s had previously announced that Double Two Hearted Ale would be shipping to retailers in July, but announced today on its Twitter page that the ale would now be released in August due to the fact that there are “so many different brews in the works.”
In addition, while the IPA was originally scheduled to be packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles, it will now be packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles when it ships.
