Yet another new bottled variant of Bell’s Brewery, Inc.’s popular wheat ale may be released this year, but you will have to travel to the brewery to get it.
Raspberry Oberon is a 5.8 percent ABV American wheat ale brewed with raspberries before being packaged in 12-ounce bottles. As the name suggests, the base beer is the Comstock, Mich.-based brewery’s Oberon Ale, which gets its moniker from a character in Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and debuted in 2002.
There have been a large number of Oberon variants since it was first introduced, including Mango Oberon, Mango Habañero Oberon Ale and Pineapple Habañero Oberon Ale. According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the new beer will be sold exclusively at the Bell’s General Store in Comstock, Mich.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
