Early next year, Bell’s Brewery, Inc. will be adding a new sour beer to its lineup.
Larry’s Latest Sour Ale is a 5 percent dry-hoped kettle-soured ale that incorporates Citra, El Dorado, Galaxy and Mosaic hops, among others. The new ale will replace the Comstock, Mich.-based brewery’s Smitten Golden Rye Ale on its seasonal release calendar in 2018, joining Oberon, Best Brown and Winter White.
“This beer is part of a long tradition of experimentation that those who visit our pub are more familiar with,” said Laura Bell, ceo of Bell’s Brewery, in a press release. “The Eccentric Café’s Draft Board is used often to try out new ingredients and new beers. This is really the step in between creating something new and then giving it a formal name.”
According to a press release, Larry’s Latest Sour Ale will be packaged in both four-packs of 16-ounce cans as well as six- and 12-packs of 12-ounce bottles that will ship across Bell’s entire distribution network “in limited qualities” in February.
