There is another Audition Series beer on the horizon for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. fans.
The Chico, Calif.-based brewery will be releasing Barrel-Aged Audition Porter, a 9.1 percent ABV porter brewed with cocoa nibs and vanilla beans before being aged in oak whisky barrels.
The new beer is part of Sierra Nevada’s Audition Series, which “are experimental pilot brews we use to test new ingredients and methods,” according to the brewery’s website. “Our audition beers are made with identical basic American ale malt recipes, but hopped throughout with a new experimental hop.”
Other releases in the Audition Series include Audition English-Style Barleywine (9 percent ABV), Audition Pumpkin Ale (7 percent ABV), Audition Altbier (6.6 percent ABV), Audition Coffee Stout (8.2 percent ABV), Audition Double IPA (8.5 percent ABV), Audition Off Kilter Scotch Ale (7.5 percent ABV) and Audition Barrel-Aged Ruthless Rye IPA (8.9 percent ABV), among others.
According to filings with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the new beer will be packaged in 750ml bottles. An email sent to the brewery for additional details was notreturned.
