Batch No. 8, the newest addition to Ballast Point Brewing Co.’s Home Brew Mart Homework Series, recently received approval from the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB).
The Homework Series is designed to celebrate the home brew tradition that inspired the founders of Ballast Point. “Before Ballast Point, there was Home Brew Mart – a place to go for brewing ingredients and equipment, or just talk about good beer and how to make it,” reads the blurb on the label.
“It’s where we spent our days experimenting, tasting and refining. Endlessly. Those early beers earned enough of a following for us to launch our own brewery. And the rest, as they say, is history. But just like you, we still spend our spare time tinkering with new recipes. Here’s to taking your work home with you.”
Batch No. 8 in the Homework Series is a hefeweizen. It has an ABV of 7 percent and will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles. As with all beers in the Homework Series, the recipe for batch No. 8 will be available for to the public on Ballast Point’s website. At this time, a release date has not been announced.
An attempt to contact the brewery for further information was not answered immediately.
