Barrel-aged stouts have become some of the most sought-after offerings from Avery Brewing Co.
On April 23, the Boulder, Colo.-based brewery will release Islay exclusively in its taproom. The Scotch-barrel aged stout clocks in at 10 percent ABV and is release No. 44 in Avery’s Barrel-Aged Series. All barrels used for aging are from Laphroaig distillery on the isle of Islay in Scotland.
It will be available in 12-ounce bottles at $12 per piece.
Avery will also be offering Islay on-tap starting at 11 a.m. and other cellared barrel-aged beers in bottles for purchase alongside Islay at 1 p.m.
