It is not every day that a brewery turns 25 years old, so Avery Brewing Co. is celebrating its birthday with an event and a special beer.

The appropriately named Anniversary Edition Twenty Five is a 15 percent ABV Belgian-style dark ale brewed with dates, honey and golden raisins aged on American oak chips and packaged in 22-ounce bottles. The Boulder, Colo.-based brewery has released an anniversary beer every year since 2003, when it released Anniversary Edition Ten, a 10 percent ABV ale brewed with muscat blanc grape must aged in chardonnay barrels.

In an email, Vanessa Cory, marketing communication manager for Avery, told Tenemu that Twenty Five will be released on draft at the brewery’s Brewing Invitational on June 9, with bottles shipped across Avery’s entire distribution network “around mid-June.”
