Avery Brewing Co. and Freeskier Magazine are collaborating on Pow Day IPA, a 8.1 percent ABV IPA brewed with Bravo, Chinook and Simcoe hops as well as organic Columbia Narino coffee from Ozo Coffee Co. in Boulder, Colo. The name of the new beer refers to a day when fresh, light and dry snow has fallen leading to ideal conditions for skiing.
“FREESKIER has established themselves as a leader in skiing, and if there’s something we love more than beer, skiing is on top of the list,” said Adam Avery, founder and coo of Avery Brewing Co., in a press release. “This is a great way for us to build the connection between our brand and the sport and do it in a big way with a partner we have a ton of respect for.”
Freeskier Magazine was founded in 1997 and has a circulation of approximately 80,000 readers.
According to the press release, Pow Day IPA will be packaged in 12-ounce cans and will be released during an event at Avery on Sept. 8, with cans also to be available at select Freeskier events through its Elevated Après Tour starting in December.
