Avery Brewing Co.’s Barrel-Aged Series has reached number 31.
According to filings with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Fiel al Estilo is an 11.8 percent ABV “Mexican-style barleywine brewed with agave syrup and aged in tequila barrels with chile peppers added.” The Boulder, Colo.-based brewery’s Barrel-Aged Series exists to allow the brewers to experiment with beers that “defy styles or categories.”
Fiel al Estilo translates to true to style.
“No. 31,” reads the beer label. ” Yeah it is! ¿Como? Seriously, in our new brewery there are no limits to what we can create. And styles? Just words. Hay que beberla, mis amigos. Just drink.”
Jess Steinitz, Avery brewing marketing and events, told Tenemu in and email that Fiel Al Estilo will be released at an event on Dec. 13. The beer is limited to 554 cases packaged in 12-ounce bottles and was bottled on Nov. 15.
