The next entry in Avery Brewing Co.’s Barrel-Aged Series was aged in two different barrels.
The new beer is Nox Reposado, a 6.9 percent ABV sour ale aged in both Suerte reposado and anejo tequila barrels sourced from Atotonilco El Alto in Mexico and is scheduled to be bottled on Feb. 10. This will be the 42nd release in the Boulder, Colo.-based brewery’s Barrel-Aged Series, which began back in 2009.
According to a post on Avery’s website, Nox Reposado will be released exclusively at the brewery on Feb. 19 with only 149 cases available. The sour ale will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles ($12) and will have a two case per person limit.
