The grand opening of American Solera this week will feature two firsts for the brewery.

The Tulsa, Okla.-based brewery will be releasing Terpy Citra, an 8 percent ABV double IPA that, as its name suggests, is brewed exclusively with Citra hops. This will be both the first canned beer as well as the first IPA to officially be released from the brewery, which has its grand opening celebration on Friday.

Announced earlier this year, American Solera is the brainchild of Chase Healey, who recently sold his stake in Prairie Artisan Ales to Krebs, Okla.-based Krebs Brewing Co. in order to concentrate on the new brewery, which will focus on various beer styles aged in oak barrels.

According to the brewery, Terpy Citra will be packaged in four-packs of 16-ounce cans ($14) and will be released at the grand opening event starting on Friday with a one case per person limit and 160 cases available.
