The first 2018 exclusive release for American Solera’s Society membership club is a blend of two different beers aged in six different types and brands of barrels.

Barrel-Aged Dilemma is a 12 percent ABV imperial stout aged that is made up of a blend of six different barrel-aged imperial stouts. The new stout is an exclusive release for members of the Tulsa, Okla.-based brewery’s American Solera Society club.

The final blend is composed of two different base stouts aged in a total of six different barrels:

  • Dilemma imperial milk stout aged in cinnamon whiskey barrels
  • Life’s Distraction imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels
  • Dilemma imperial milk stout aged in rye whiskey barrels
  • Dilemma imperial milk stout aged in bourbon barrels
  • Dilemma imperial milk stout aged in bourbon barrels
  • Dilemma imperial milk stout aged in barrels that previously held Balcones Brimstone whiskey

According to American Solera, Barrel-Aged Dilemma will be packaged in 500ml bottles and will be released on Aug.11 at the brewery, with each member being allocated four bottles. In addition, there will be an unknown number of additional bottles of the stout that will be sold exclusively to members at a later date.
