American Solera’s Society club members are getting the first crack at a brand new barrel-aged stout today, but the public will have their chance later this month.

Single Malt Distraction is a 14 percent ABV imperial stout aged in a blend of both Balcones Rumble and Single Malt whisky barrels. According to the brewery, the new stout uses Life’s Distraction as its base, an 18 percent ABV barrel-aged imperial stout that was sold as a member exclusive in July 2018.

There have been a number of different Life’s Distraction variants released, including Vanilla Coffee Life’s DistractionDollar For Dollar, Purple Lemur and Double Purple Lemur.

According to American Solera, Single Malt Distraction is packaged in 500ml bottles ($30) with only 600 bottles available. Although the stout is on sale with a one bottle per person purchase limit to members of the brewery’s club now, the unsold bottles that remain after each member buys one will go on sale to the public on Sept. 21 with a two bottle purchase limit per person.
