The final member bottle for this year’s American Solera Society members takes its name from a term made popular on craft beer trading forums.
ISO: Tacos is a 13 percent ABV imperial stout that has been aged for 15 months in barrels that previously held Laird’s Apple Brandy and is an exclusive release for members of the Tulsa, Okla.-based brewery’s American Solera Society club, which debuted in 2016. According to the brewery, the new stout uses the same base as Life’s Distraction, an 18 percent ABV barrel-aged imperial stout that was sold as a member exclusive in July 2018.
The new stout’s name is a reference to the word tacos that members of trading forums on Facebook use in place of the word money or cash, as paying for beer on Facebook is against the site’s policies.
According to American Solera, ISO: Tacos will be packaged in 500ml bottles and will be released on May 26 at the brewery, with each member being allocated four bottles. In addition, each member will have the option to purchase one extra bottle priced at $30 each.
