Almanac Beer Co. is combining hoppy and sour attributes in one of its next releases in the Farm To Barrel series.

The new beer is Hoppy Sour: Mandarina, a 7 percent ABV “sour blonde ale” that has been aged in wine barrels and dry hopped exclusively with Mandarin Bavaria hops.

The San Jose, Calif.-based brewery’s popular Farm to Barrel Series began in 2013 with Barrel Noir imperial stout (10 percent ABV) and now encompasses more than 20 different releases.

According to filings with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB,) Hoppy Sour: Mandarina will be bottled in November and will be packaged in 375ml bottles.  An email sent to the brewery for additional details was not immediately returned.
