Hopefully, fans of Allagash Brewing Co. won’t need a map to find one of its upcoming releases.

According to Brett Willis, marketing specialist with Allagash, the Portland, Maine-based brewery will be releasing Map 40, a 7.7 percent ABV Belgian-style stout brewed with cold-brewed coffee from Speckled Ax, also in Portland. This is not the first time the two companies have collaborated, as Allagash uses coffee from the same roaster in its James Bean, a 10.4 percent ABV Belgian-style strong ale.

The name Map 40 references a spot in northern Maine where the Kennebec meets the Dead River, which is also known as the Forks.

In an email, Willis told Tenemu that Map 40 will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles and is scheduled to be released “early next year”, although distribution has not been confirmed yet.
