A new Speedway Stout variant from AleSmith Brewing Co. gets its name from the Vietnamese word for chocolate.

Sea Salt Sôcôla Speedway Stout is a 13 percent ABV imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels with cacao nibs, sea salt, vanilla beans and Vietnamese coffee. As the name suggests, the base beer is the San Diego-based brewery’s year-round Speedway Stout, a beer that debuted in 1999 and has had more than 60 different variants released since.

According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Sea Salt Sôcôla Speedway Stout will be packaged in 750ml bottles and will be an exclusive release for members of AleSmith’s Order of the Anvil club, which is the brewery’s membership club that debuted in 2017.
