AleSmith Brewing Co. is changing up its Summer Yulesmith.
The 8.5 percent ABV double IPA was first released in 2000, but will now be known as AleSmith Double IPA, complete with a new brand refresh. In addition, the beer will now be available from May-September, an increase of two months compared to the previous version.
“Until this year, the beer went by the admittedly confusing moniker AleSmith Summer YuleSmith, a name that in no way spoke to the beer’s style or its immense hop-borne flavors and aromas of citrus fruit, pine and resinous spice,” reads a press release. “Yet, the beer has remained a favorite of the brewery’s offerings despite its odd handle and the fact it was only ever available three months out of every year during the summer season.”
AleSmith Double IPA will be packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles as well as 22-ounce bottles and will ship throughout the San Diego, Calif.-based brewery’s distribution footprint starting on May 5.
