A new beer from Alaskan Brewing Co. is named after the name of a type of dog used to pull sleds in the northern regions of the world.

The new release is Husky IPA, a 7 percent ABV IPA brewed “primarily” with Mosaic hops. In an email, Andy Kline,  Alaskan’s communications manager, told Tenemu that the IPA will be the Juneau, Alaska-based brewery’s spring seasonal and “should be hitting shelves in the February timeframe and be on until April/May.”

According to Kline, Husky IPA will be packaged in both six- and 12-packs of 12-ounce bottles and is scheduled to ship to all 18 states in Alaskan’s distribution network starting in Feb. 2017.
