FUNKY BUDDHA ADDING BRANDY BARREL-AGED MORNING WOOD AS IMPERIAL CLUB EXCLUSIVE

A brand new version of Funky Buddha Brewery’s popular barrel-aged “breakfast-inspired” porter is coming to bottles, but you will have to be a part of the brewery’s membership club to get it.

According to labels filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Brandy Barrel-Aged Morning Wood is an 11.2 percent ABV imperial porter aged in brandy barrels and conditioned on coffee beans, maple syrup, and “natural flavors” that will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles.

The new porter will be an exclusive release for members of Funky Buddha’s Imperial Club, which debuted in 2019.

As the name suggests, the base beer is the Oakland Park, Fla.-based brewery’s Morning Wood, an 11.2 percent ABV imperial porter brewed with coffee, maple syrup, and smoked salt before being aged in bourbon barrels.

An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
