Later this month, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is releasing “the ultimate and definitive survival beer.”
It’s The End Of The Wort As We Know It is a 9 percent ABV ale brewed with grains, flax seed, chia seed, goji berries, purple sweet potatoes, acai, blueberries, and rose hips. According to a post on Dogfish Head’s website,
the ale “contains more than eight times the amount of Vitamin B Complex than one of America’s best-selling light lagers, including over 90 percent of the daily recommended serving of folic acid.”
“Myself and six other co-workers from various departments at Dogfish set out to brew the most survivalist-oriented beer Dogfish has ever made and packed it with a bunch of delicious culinary ingredients resulting in a ton of goodness in the form of essential vitamins and amino acids,”
said Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head founder and CEO, in a press release. “We’re also pretty pumped that a super-unique, nutrient-rich ‘survivor’ beer was born out of a brew day amongst friends originating from one of my favorite conversation starter questions, ‘What’s your desert island beer?’”
According to Dogfish Head, It’s The End Of The Wort As We Know It will be packaged in 750ml bottles and will come in a package priced at $45 that will also include a limited-edition Dogfish branded Swiss army knife,
a solar blanket, and a length of paracord. The ale will be released exclusively at Dogfish Head’s Milton, Del. facility on Jan. 27 and will have a two package per person purchase limit, with only 200 packages available.
