According to labels filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Creature Comforts Brewing Co. is working on releasing Concurrence Blend No. 8, a 13.8 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with lactose that has been aged in rye whiskey barrels.
The new beer is then scheduled to be conditioned on cocoa nibs, strawberries, and vanilla beans before being packaged in 500ml bottles.
The Athens, Ga.-based brewery’s Concurrence Series has been described as a “continued exploration into barrel-aged stouts paired with the finest quality adjunct ingredients.”
The first blend in the series was released on July 20, 2019, and was composed of a blend of stouts aged in four different bourbon barrels conditioned on four pounds of vanilla beans per barrel.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
