Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast

Founded in 2006 by a math teacher, Mikkel Borg Bjergsø and a journalist, Kristian Klarup Keller, Mikkeller is a "gypsy" brewery; that is, a brewery without a physical location that brews its creations at other breweries. Both owners were home brewers who began brewing together and won an award in the stout category of an international beer voting event with an experimental beer named Beer Geek Breakfast.

Then one day when he drank an IPA from he quickly realized two things, he wanted to make beer like that and he could save a lot of money if he could.

Start home brewing, become obsessed, take the plunge and open up a small brewery, continue to grow and start distributing your wares to a larger and larger number of people.The Danish duo of Mikkel Borg Bjergsø and Kristian Klarup Keller had a similar story in forming the highly regarded brewery Mikkeller but with one major exception: the duo skipped the step of opening up a brewery. While their beers are currently distributed to over 40 countries around the world and yet there is no actual Mikkeller brewery that can be visited.
