The name of a new creation coming from Cascade Brewing translates to “Darling Rose.”
That beer is Rose Chérie, a 6.2 percent ABV blend of sour red and golden ales that have been aged in both oak wine barrels and foudres for up to 12 months. The ale was then “infused” with Oregon-grown Bing and Montmorency cherries and dried rose petals before being packaged in 12-ounce cans.
“This release is part of our more sessionable sours,” said Nicholle Signore, marketing manager at Cascade, in an email to Tenemu. “Going forward all our 12-ounce can releases will feature beers with slightly lower ABV and less acidity.”
According to Signore, Rose Chérie is scheduled to be released at Cascade’s taprooms on April 9, after which some bottles will be shipped to retailers in the states of California, Idaho, Maine, Oregon, Tennessee and Washington and “likely Europe” and “maybe a few other spots.”
