Although I spent three years in Germany in the latter half of the 70s, I did not have a taste for beer at that time, more's the pity. My younger brother got me started in home-brewing about 2009 by giving me a Cooper's microbrewing kit for my birthday. After producing a few "canned" beers using the easy-to-use Cooper's kits, I decided to try something a bit more robust and got a recipe for a partial mash New Castle Brown Ale and I haven't looked back. Since that time, I teamed up with a good friend and we have produced beers ranging from a Ten-Fidy so thick we had to wipe the thermometer off to view the temperature, to an Australian Pale Ale which took first place in the amber beer category in a local home brewer's competition in 2011. Away from the brewing world, my background has been just as varied as my beers, but I like to unwind singing with the Central Texas Master Singers.
