There is a possibility of a new Evil Twin Brewing beer aged in very special barrels.
A post on the Brooklyn, N.Y.-based company’s Instagram page shows what appears some Imperial Biscotti Break aging in maple syrup barrels from BLiS Gourmet. The label appears to indicate that the beer was put in the barrels on May 7 of this year. Evil Twin’s Imperial Biscotti Break is an 11.5 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with coffee beans at at Mount Pleasant, S.C.-based Westbrook Brewing Co..
This is not the first time that BLiS Gourmet barrels have been used to enhance beer, as the most newest draft-only release of Founders Brewing Co.’s Canadian Breakfast Stout (10.6 percent ABV) in Dec. 2014 also utilized them.
When reached for comment, Evil Twin owner Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø would only say, “As of now we would like not to say more than the picture ;).”
