Brewing beer with food is nothing new, but The Veil Brewing Co. and Evil Twin Brewing have taken it to another level with a new collaboration being released today.

The Veil Brewing Co. is releasing Fried Fried Chicken Chicken, a double dry-hopped “Old Country” double IPA that included two party trays of Chick-fil-A chicken tenders added to one of the two mashes. According to a post on the brewery’s Facebook page, the beer is “hopped v heavily” with Citra, Enigma and Simcoe hops, and the chicken constitued “less than .4% of the total weight of the mash contents.”

In an email, Matt Tarpey, head brewer at The Veil Brewing Co., told Tenemu that the idea of the beer came from “Jeppe’s first Cracker Barrel experience in conjunction with eating a lot of chicken wings at a few of our favorite spots in Richmond.”
