Surly Brewing Co. of Minneapolis has begun plans for its eleventh anniversary beer, simply titled Eleven.

Artwork featuring the face of Janus, Roman god of transition, adorns the 750ml bottle. The beer is “a Belgian-style quad ale [that] honors the past while a 100% Brett-fermented wheat beer looks toward the future” according to a label submitted to the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB).

The predecessors in the Anniversary Series are:

  • 2007 – One – Quadruple Bock
  • 2008 – Two – Oak aged Stour with Cranberries
  • 2009 – Three – Braggot
  • 2010 – Four – Double Espresso Stout
  • 2011 – Five – Brett Dark Ale
  • 2012 – Sÿx – American Strong Ale
  • 2013 – Seviin – Belgian Strong Ale with Brett
  • 2014 – Eight – Oat Wine Aged in Rye Barrels
  • 2015 – Nein – Imperial Smoked Dunkelweizen
  • 2016 – Ten – Old Ale
