After being a draft-only option for more than a year, Delicious IPA is finally ready for the big time.

Stone Brewing Company has announced via social media that the 7.7 percent ABV and 75 IBUs IPA will be sold in bottles for the first time starting next year. The beer incorporates three different types of malt as well as nugget, Calypso, El Dorado and lemon drop hops and is also dry-hopped with El Dorado hops during the brewing process.

“We went through several iterations of this beer in our brewhouse at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens –  Liberty Station, using several hop recipes until we had that ‘A -ha!’ moment tasting a beer that I had asked Liberty Station Brewing Manager Kris Ketcham to brew,” said Mitch Steele, Stone brewmaster, in the sales materials for the beer. “It was a single-hop beer called the Lost City of Liquid Gold, using 100% of the new El Dorado hop from Yakima, Washington. This beer gave us the last piece to the puzzle on the formulation for Stone Delicious IPA—we changed the dry-hop to 100% El Dorado, and we achieved these magnificent lemon candy and spicy hop flavors that are fun and unique.”

Delicious IPA will be sold in 12-ounce bottles starting in 2015.
