Sixpoint Brewery garnered attention for its Hi-Res triple IPA, but a new release will tone down the hops.

The new beer is named Lo-Res, a 4.5 percent ABV IPA brewed with Mandarina Bavaria hops that the brewery is calling a “sesher IPA.” In an email, Michael Lenane, spokesperson at Sixpoint, told Tenemu that it is part of the Resin line which includes both Hi-Res triple IPA and Resin double IPA.

“They’re related beers, but not simple scaled versions of each other by any means: Lo-Res is significantly more pale, and heavly features Mandarina Bavaria, an amazingly citrus-y German varietal.”

According to Lenane, Lo-Res will be packaged in eight-count boxes of 12-ounce cans and is scheduled to be ship to retailers across Sixpoint’s entire distribution network in June.
