The latest release in Saint Arnold Brewing Co.’s Bishop’s Barrel Series will be on shelves next month.

Bishop’s Barrel 17 is an adambier-style ale that has been aged in bourbon barrels. This is not the first the Houston-based brewery has released an adambier-style ale, Saint Arnold released Divine Reserve 16 (10 percent ABV) in February 2016.

Saint Arnold’s Bishop’s Barrel Series is a way for the brewery to “experiment with pairing our ales with a variety of different barrels, fruits or whatever else our fancy” and are aged in various barrels “anywhere from a few months to well over a year.”

The first beer in the series was released in 2012 and there have now been 17 different iterations, with an 18th announced:

  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 1 (12 percent ABV), a bourbon barrel imperial stout
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 2 (7.8 percent ABV), an old ale aged in chardonnay barrels with cherries
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 3 (8.7 percent ABV), a bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 4 (7.9 percent ABV), a bourbon barrel-aged weizenbock with cocoa nibs
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 5 (12 percent ABV), a bourbon barrel-aged wee heavy scotch ale
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 6 (13 percent ABV), an imperial pumpkin stout aged in rum barrels
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 7 (11.3 percent ABV), a bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 8 (11.5 percent ABV), a bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 9 (12.9 percent ABV), a bourbon barrel-aged imperial pumpkin stout
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 10 (12.7 percent ABV), a bourbon barrel-aged barleywine
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 11 (10.1 percent ABV), a gin barrel-aged double IPA
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 12 (8.9 percent ABV), an ale aged in Sauvignon Blanc wine barrels with cherries and brettanomyces
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 13 (12 percent ABV), a bourbon barrel-aged quadrupel
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 14 (12.1 percent ABV), a Russian imperial stout that has aged in bourbon barrels with coffee
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 15, a barleywine aged in rye whiskey barrels
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 16, a dubbel-style ale aged in red wine barrels with brettanomyces
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 17, a adambier-style ale aged in bourbon barrels
  • Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel 18, an oat wine ale aged rye whiskey barrels

According to a tweet on Saint Arnold’s Twitter page, Bishop’s Barrel 17 will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles and is scheduled to be released on March 27 throughout Saint Arnold’s distribution network.

Update: Saint Arnold says the beer will be released on March 27.
