What started as an email conversation “aiming for sunshine” came to fruition as a golden, double IPA that will be available on two continents.

AMUN, an Oat Milk double IPA brewed with Citra, Mosaic, and nelson hops, is the result of a collaboration between The Veil Brewing Co. located in Richmond, Va. and the Swedish outfit, Omnipollo. In an email, Matt Tarpey, head brewer for The Veil, told Tenemu the beer is “a very bright, straw in color double IPA clocking at 8 percent. Hen Fentie (co-founder of Omnipollo) suggested that we try using Oat Milk. He said he was always curious about brewing with it, so we gave it a shot.”

In another email to Tenemu, Magnus Björnstjerna, operations manager for Omnipollo, confirmed the European version was brewed at Dugges Bryggeri in Gothenburg, Sweden. That incarnation was packaged in both 330ml bottles and kegs before being released earlier this week.

On the other side of the pond, the U.S. version will be brewed at The Veil and packaged in 16-ounce cans. “The U.S. version will be released early February [and] most likely be $17-18 per four-pack” said Tarpey. “The U.S. version here at The Veil will not see distribution at all. It will exclusively be available in cans and draft from our tasting room only.”
