Brewery Ommegang is set to expand its barrel-aged offerings in a significant way.

According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Rum Barrel Sirens’ Song is a dark ale brewed with figs and raisins, before being aged in rum barrels. The new ale is the first in what the brewery promised to be a series of releases aged in barrels.

“Ommegang barrel-aging is our newest venture to enhance both the saintly and sinfuly fine qualities of our most desired ales,” reads the beer label. “Some will age in Bourbon barrels, some in Rye barrels, and others in barrels yet to come. We expect to release new barrel-aged beers more frequently in the coming months and years.”

Rum Barrel Sirens’ Song will be packaged in 750ml bottles. An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
