Next week, Lagunitas Brewing Co. is shipping some of the freshest beer on the market almost as quickly as it can brew it.
The beer is Born Yesterday, a 7 percent ABV unfiltered pale ale brewed with 11lbs-per-barrel of Citra, Mosaic, Indigenous Catawampus and Simcoe hops. The pale ale was first introduced by the Petaluma, Calif.-based brewery in 2014, but that version was brewed with Amarillo, Equinox and Mosaic hops, and the last release was in May of this year.
The pale ale is meant to be enjoyed fresh, and in the past Lagunitas has done its best to facilitate that by brewing the beer the day after the hops are picked, then shipping the beer out of the brewery’s Chicago and Petaluma facilities the next day.
According to a post on Lagunitas’ website, the latest incarnation of Born Again will be packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles and will be shipping to retailers across the brewery’s distribution network on Oct. 17.
