Fans of Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales’ Baudelaire Biere Series are in for a treat this week.
Baudelaire Ale Absurd, a Chardonnay barrel-aged rye tripel will once again be bottled. The first time since 2009.
Brewed with a sizeable portion of rye malt, Ale Absurd is much more dry than the traditional Tripel. We aged the 8.3% ale in fresh California Chardonnay barrels for 17 months. The result was a medium bodied ale with mild spiciness, oak notes blended with hints of pear, and a light buttery tinge rounded with moderate acidity.
Jolly Pumpkin Cafe locations began offering the beer this week and it’s on its way to retailers in the state of Michigan.
Limited out-of-state distribution of 750ml bottles will be available wherever Jolly Pumpkin beers are usually sold.
