1516 is back.
Goose Island Beer Co.’s Bavarian Kellerbier, released last year to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reinheitsgebot, or German Beer Purity Law, is returning in 2017.
According to labels filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the Chicago-based brewery is bringing back 1516 once again as the final release of the year in its Fulton & Wood series.
The 2017 vintage clocks in at many of the same levels as the 2016 version. It is 5.1 percent ABV with 38 IBU using Beechwood Smoked, Debittered Black, Munich, Pilsner and Rorrified wheat and then hallertau and Millennium hops.
This year 1516 will be packaged in bottles for the first time, available in 355ml bottles as well as on draft.
No release date has been announced, the beer was released last year in early September.
