Why is it that there is such a thing as a strawberry blonde but the term pineapple blonde is not familiar? Funky Buddha Brewery may put an end the mystery.

Although Pineapple Beach was previously released on draft, this will be the first time it is bottled for distribution. Pineapple Beach uses “Citra hops and pilsner malt in the beer, plus a touch of wheat malt” according to John Linn, brand director for Funky Buddha. The beer is created with pineapple juice rather than whole fruit because “it’s much easier and more consistent to work with.”

The 5 percent ABV beer will be sold in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles. According to Linn, customers can expect the six-packs to retail for around $9.99 when it ships to retailers on Feb. 1.
