Founders Brewing Co. has shipped the newest incarnation of reDANKulous, a 9.5 percent ABV imperial red IPA brewed with caramalt and roasted barley as well as chinook, mosaic and simcoe hops. The IPA debuted as part of the Grand Rapid’s Mich.-based Backstage Series in July 2015 in 750ml bottles before being moved to the Specialty Series last year and packaged in 12-ounce bottles.

“If you’re wondering what dank means in this beer, think lingering sensory overload,” said Dave Engbers, co-founder and president of Founders, in a press release. “It really says something that this style has become a crowd favorite of judges and hop heads alike. Jeremy and our team of brewers love to experiment with new varieties, combinations and techniques – because of that reDANKulous exudes our ‘brewed for us’ philosophy.”

According to a press release, reDANKulous 2017 is packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles ($11.99) that are shipping to all 46 states in the brewery’s distribution network starting today, with expected availability through September.
