Coronado Brewing Co. has acquired a majority stake In Monkey Paw Brewing Co.
According to a press release, Monkey Paw Brewing will retain “creative brewing freedom”, and the brewery will continue its operations as it did before the deal, with head brewer Nick Norton retaining his position. In addition, the move will allow the Monkey Paw brand to scale up its operation by utilizing Coronado’s experience and resources while allowing Coronado to sell more beer in its home state of California.
“We are excited to bring Monkey Paw Brewing Company into our family,” says Brandon Richards, coo of Coronado Brewing, in a press release. “We’re looking forward to partnering with Scot Blair and his team; they have built a tremendous brand from the ground up, and their beers are incredibly well-respected. We can’t wait to share their brand with an expanded audience.”
The deal is expected to close on Sept. 1 for an undisclosed sum.
