Next week, Central Waters Brewing Co. will be releasing Maple Barrel Stout, a 14 percent ABV imperial stout aged in freshly dumped bourbon barrels that had maple syrup from Cashton, Wis.-based B & E’s Trees: Forest Foraged Foods & Farm aged in them for a full year. After taking the maple syrup out, the imperial stout was then aged in those barrels for another year before being bottled.
In an email, a spokesperson for Central Waters told Tenemu that the base beer for the new stout is a “preexisting brew”, but would not elaborate further.
According to Central Waters, there will be approximately 2,000 22-ounce bottles ($25) available when the beer is released at the brewery on April 22. Tickets to the event were sold on Brown Paper Tickets earlier this month.
