According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), The Bruery will release Geburtstagskranz, a beer brewed for its friend’s sixth anniversary.

Who the “friend” is has not been made clear, but it is eluded to all over the label.

Geburtstagskranz is 50 percent stout and 50 percent imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels with vanilla and cacao nibs, with tart cherries added.

It’s a surprise. Close your eyes, make a wish, take a sip. Now open and behold this black forest cake-inspired beer, brewed to celebrate our friend’s sixth birthday. It’s a recipe that called for a rich imperial stout, with notes of chocolate, barrel-aged character. sweet vanilla and tart, juicy cherries. We couldn’t be happier to craft this bottle to help our friends celebrate. Cheers to them (and you!)

Due to the surprise factor of the 9.5 percent ABV beer, limited information has been given other than it will be in The Bruery’s typical 750ml bottles.

An email sent to the brewery was not immediately returned.
