Avery Brewing Co. is turning 24 years old in 2017, and as breweries are wont to do, is planning a special release to commemorate the occasion.

The beer is appropriately named Twenty Four Imperial IPA, a 9 percent ABV imperial IPA brewed with Idaho 7, Simcoe and Vic’s Secret hops as well as Belgian candi sugar. This marks the 14th year in a row that the Boulder, Colo.-based brewery has released an anniversary ale, after Ten (10 percent ABV) debuted back in 2003.

“One hop, two hop, dry hop, new hop,” reads the label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB.) “Decades of hop obsession has brought us to this celebratory Imperial IPA. Twenty Four is a reflection of our journey as hop freaks with is bouquet and taste evolving right in your glass.”

In an email, Vanessa Cory, marketing communication manager at Avery, told Tenemu that Twenty Four will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles and is scheduled to ship to retailers across the brewery’s distribution network in May.
