It turns out that next year’s Mother’s Day weekend will also include another big event.
That is because 3 Floyds Brewing Co. has announced that Dark Lord Day 2017 will be on May 13, 2017.
The annual event that is the only place that attendees can purchase Dark Lord, a 15 percent Russian imperial stout sold in 22-ounce bottles that is brewed with coffee, Indian sugar, Mexican vanilla. The stout was first brewed in 2002, but was not packaged in bottles until 2004, with the first Dark Lord Day taking place in 2005.
Next year will mark the 12th time Dark Lord Day has taken place, although the event has historically been held in April. This year’s event was held on April 30, and was the first year that the brewery charged a flat fee of $200 instead of a la carte pricing. That fee included a $40 entry fee, four bottles of Dark Lord priced at $20 each, one bottle of a Dark Lord variant priced at $50, a branded tote bag and $40 of food and drink vouchers for the event.
Although ticket prices, purchase limits and other festival details have not yet been announced, the event will be held at 3 Floyds Brewing Co. located in Munster, Ind.
