I owe a debt of gratitude to the Flying Saucer in Addison, Texas for providing my first flights into the wide world of craft beer. Tuesday nights at the Saucer were dedicated to trivia, darts and consuming beers that wouldn't be caught dead at a corner store. I wholly embraced the moniker "beerknurd" and committed myself to introduce as many people as possible to dark beer. My exposure to the creation of beer came from participating in home brew sessions around the neighborhood often in small garage setups. Tasting the "interesting" results bred a deep appreciation for the talented folks who have earned the title brewmaster. By day I work in entertainment technology working with producers to process audio, video and lighting ideas into reality.
